Chemistry plays an integral role in today's scientific endeavors. As science has become increasingly interdisciplinary, fundamental scientific problems focus on the chemical nature of matter. Department of Chemistry established in 2005. The department presently has 8 faculty members. There are currently about 300 undergraduate students in Applied Chemistry. There are 5 educational and 4 research laboratories in the department that have been well equipped to conduct educational purposes. The research interests of the faculty members encompass multicomponent reactions, phosphorous compounds, electrochemistry, electrocatalysts, biosensors, and computational chemistry. The number of publications of the department has increased considerably in the recent years.
