The history of the University

According to the chancellor of the University, Islamic Azad University, Zanján Branch started activity in Ordibehesht of 1985 with 4 series of accounting, agriculture, construction and Islamic Education with 175 students in a rental building. Later, it progressed, and with the efforts of the University officials, it now it has 259 full time, and 377 part time faculty members in 108 educational branches with 12345 students and 25000 students have graduated so far.

This unit, with 73796 square meters of educational, welfare and sports spaces, is active and 35550 square meters is under construction. On the new site, Imam (Rah) big projects such as the Technical Faculty of Engineering, the Human Sciences Faculty, the mosque, the dormitories, sports halls and workshops that are being constructed in 40 hectares. Currently, the Human Sciences Faculty is being utilized.

Among the successes of this university branch are 53 published articles in ISI magazines by faculty members in research fields, 42 published books, first ranked research activities in the region, tens of National and Regional Conferences hosted, the developing activities of the Young Researchers' Club, the Industry Communication Office, and the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Center.

The honors of this university include second rank in the country by the Student Deputy, “outstanding” rank by the Administrative Deputy and “excellent” rank by University International Relations.

The preceding comprises of the achievements of Islamic Azad University of Zanján in the Higher Education scene of the country. We hope that with the grace of God and increasing efforts,  the professors, students and employees can achieve greater successes with stable development.
